Fort Worth Audubon Society
Collaborative Grant for Audubon Adventures

Thanks to the Audubon Foundation of Texas/Audubon Texas chapter grant, the Fort Worth Audubon Society (FWAS) Audubon Adventures program is reaching even more local schools and educational organizations. This year, 83 classroom and individual kits were sent out, the most in a single season that the FWAS has on record. In fact, due to the large numbers reached through our Audubon Adventures program, National Audubon has specifically requested that FWAS help support them in their Great Backyard Bird Count efforts in 2009.

$500 in grant funds was spent on Audubon Adventures (in addition to $3,268.30 from FWAS). Fort Worth Audubon Society will most likely spend more of its own funds throughout the school year to support additional requests from local educators for Audubon Adventures.
