Travis Audubon Society
Collaborative Grant for Seating for Events and Classes

We received a $500 grant toward our goal of purchasing forty (40) green Ikea chairs in the “Urban” style for the amount of $1600.00 and a Nassau cast aluminum garden bench in the amount of $226.22.  The purpose of the request was to expand our ability to provide seating for events and classes in Birding, Wildscaping, Butterflies, Bats, Ecology and Astronomy.  It was necessary that the seating be compatible with the architectural design of the center and that it be functional and durable.

With the $500 received we were able to purchase 12 of the Ikea chairs for $479.88.  We would ask the foundation to consider allowing us to retain the remaining $20.12 to help cover some of the costs of the native landscaping at the Center which furthers the educational purposes of the Jackie Arnold Education Center.
